Sanchit Salunkhe

Meet Sanchit Salunkhe! Sanchit is a newer member of Run Muskegon and one who rarely misses a Wednesday night group run. He is originally from India. He moved to the USA for education and completed his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has lived in a few states since his time here and has been living in the Muskegon area for a little over 4 years now. Sanchit works as a Sales Engineer at Michigan Spring and Stamping.

As a part of our Runner Spotlight, we also asked Sanchit to answer a few fun questions:
1. How long have you been running?
On and off for 3 years, But seriously only this year.
2. Do you race? If so, what is your most memorable race experience?
Yes. Most memorable race has to be Ragnar road 2022. I pushed myself much more than I had before and enjoyed the camaraderie with my fellow team members. My (and team's) final leg of 6.5 miles was definitely a memory I will cherish. It was drizzling lightly throughout my run and I had a chance to run next to gorgeous landscapes. The whole nature was radiating life and it was such a rejuvenating feeling. Also, when I crossed the finish line with my teammates, it was a great sense of achievement.
3. Ever run in a costume? If so, what?
Not yet, but I am definitely considering doing that in the future.
4. Only running shoes for me are...
whatever fits.
5. What is your worst running-related injury?
Nothing yet.
6. Hot or cold weather runner?
I prefer cooler weather over hot weather anyday. But have run in the winter (running on snow/ice has been something I worry about but going to give it a shot this year)
7. What is your motivation for running?
To improve myself.
8. If I didn't run I....
I will be hiking or playing board games with my friends.
9. I can't run without...
my running shoes
10. What's the farthest you have run at one time?
7.5 miles (at Ragnar of course) But technically I did walk 2-3 times during that entire run.

I do wanna appreciate Alana's guidance as a coach. I improved my running time by more than a minute per mile after I started following her instructions.
