Patrick was born and raised in Norton Shores and graduated from Mona Shores High School in 2010 - Go Sailors! He went to Muskegon Community College for a couple of years before transferring to Grand Valley State University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Some of you may have known him from working at the Lakeshore Fitness Center (now the Boys and Girls Club / Neal Fitness Center), where he worked as an exercise specialist and taught SPIN classes. Patrick has been a runner since he was in middle school, but he always ran as a supplement to his main sports of hockey and cycling. It wasn’t until he met the love of his life, Amanda, that he started running longer distances and more regularly, and he has been a Run Muskegon member since 2022 – Thanks Amanda! Patrick will be finishing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Grand Valley in August and he will begin working in the area in September. He loves how every body is unique, and he enjoys exploring ways to promote regular activity or ways to get folks back to moving pain-free. He says, “feel free to tell him about your aches and pains and pick his brain!” Patrick and Amanda moved to Whitehall with their 2 cats and 1 dog (Sushi, Nori, and Poppy), and they are excited to settle back into a normal routine again! 1.
