Muskegon, our goal is to get everyone moving and live a healthy, active lifestyle! We hear it all the time that people are afraid to join Run Muskegon because their inner voice says things like “I’m not a runner” or “I can’t keep up”. We want to knock down the barriers and invite you to Run Muskegon for a 5k training program!
This training program is specifically for folks that are new to the 5k distance and currently NOT running. Repeat: not runners. The training program will start with walking and as the program progresses, we will sprinkle in some 30 seconds of pushing the pace. The goal is to complete Run Muskegon Turkey Trot 5k injury-free and celebrating you! Run Muskegon members and their certified coaches will help you cross the finish line, you just need to make the commitment and join us!
Training kicks off Wednesday, October 4th and will be weekly through Thanksgiving! Coach Alana will send you with some homework (a training plan!) for the weeks leading up to Run Muskegon’s Turkey Trot 5k. She’ll be joining you in the training every Wednesday and be there to answer your questions about sore muscles, shoes, nutrition and more!
