If so, what is your most memorable race experience? Joe’s first race was the 25k River Bank Run where he was able to finish in 1 hour 45 minutes. From there Joe started to complete Iron Man triathlons and progressed to Ultra Running. Joes most memorable race was completing the 100 mile Pine Creek Challenge in Pennsylvania. Ever run in a costume? If so, what? No 4. Only running shoes for me are...Joe only runs in HOKA’s and Jenni runs in Brooks 5. What is your worst running-related injury? Joe's most significant running injury occurred during his attempt at the Eastern States 100. Mistaking a stick for a rattlesnake, he veered off course and fell partially down the side of the mountain, ultimately being stopped by a fallen tree. The incident resulted in substantial bruising and joint pain in his hip. Similarly, Jenni experienced her most severe running injury when she tripped while running at night during the Ragnar Trail event. Rather than executing a roll to break her fall, she landed on one leg, which led to muscle tears in her back. 6. Hot or cold weather runner? Joe and Jenni both prefer hot weather. 7. What is your motivation for running? Joe runs to manage his PTSD from combat in Iraq. Jenni dislikes running but does it to challenge herself and prove she can overcome difficulties. 8. If I didn't run I.... Joe would become depressed. Jenni would become disappointed in herself for not pushing to do hard things. 9. I can't run without... My running vest (both Jenni and Joe) 10. What's the farthest you have run at one time? Joe has completed 100 miles and Jenni has ran 35 miles while attempting a 100K. 11. What brought you to Run Muskegon and why have you stayed? Jenni and Joe were introduced to Run Muskegon while first starting the RunStrong class at the Ivy Rehab on Sherman Blvd (formerly Generation Care). We stay because Run Muskegon is a group of amazing people who give back to the community.
