Matt Jones was born and raised in Muskegon and currently lives in East Muskegon with his wife Traci. They have three children and two grandchildren. He works as a crane service technician all over Western Michigan. Matt never ran in school except for gym class in middle school. His gym teacher noticed that he was able to run quite fast and for an extended period of time and introduced him to the cross country coach. Two weeks later he was hit by a car and broke his leg and never ran for school. His oldest daughter started running cross country and challenged him to run an open at one of her meets. He ran fast enough that others told him he should actually train and see what he might be able to do. His first event was the 2012 Seaway Run 5K. Outside of running, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, working on his yard and fixing things around the house. 1. How long have you been running? I have been running for 13 years 2.
